WE ARE HUIKALA

IF YOU’RE WONDERING IF YOU FIT AT HUIKALA, YOU DO.

Huikala Baptist Church began with a desire to reach the metropolitan Honolulu area with the Gospel. In 2009, prayer, planning and preparation began in the laying of the foundation for this church.

Pastor Anthony and his family were commissioned and sent from Lancaster Baptist Church in Lancaster, California in July of 2013 to plant Huikala Baptist Church in the heart of the city.

The Kings, along with three other families, opened the doors of Huikala Baptist Church on October 13, 2013 to over eighty first-time guests.

Huikala Baptist Church is an urban,  culturally diverse, Bible-believing, Bible-teaching, Bible-living, non-denominational Baptist church where Jesus is preeminent and you can find a fresh start! If you are looking for a friendly, healthy, Bible-believing church—you’re going to love growing in grace with us!

WHAT DOES HUIKALA MEAN?

Huikala is actually a compound word, made up of the Hawaiian words, hui and kala. Hui means “club, association, society, corporation, company, institution, organization, band, league, firm, partnership, union, alliance, troupe or team.” The word kala means “to loosen, untie, free, release, remove, unburden, absolve, let go, acquit, take off, undo to forgive, pardon, excuse, to substitute for. Huikala in the literal sense means a group of the forgiven and that’s precisely what we are.

More importantly, Huikala is a place where you can find hope, peace, forgiveness and friendship. Join us this Sunday as we worship the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!
