Messages from Open House 2026, celebrating Huikala's 13th anniversary.
The enemy always shows up when God’s people gather.
Opposition is proof you are moving, not proof you are wrong.
Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.2 Timothy 3:12
A faith-filled, praying church is a church that gets to see God work.
Prayer was Israel’s first move, not their last resort.
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.Jeremiah 33:3
God won the battle and Israel simply walked in the victory.
God broke the enemy and Israel just had to pursue what He had already defeated.
Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.Zechariah 4:6
What God has done cannot ever be forgotten.
We remember what God has done so the next generation knows what God can do.
That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children:Psalm 78:6
Create markers in your life to tell the story of God’s faithfulness.
Don’t let today’s battle make you forget yesterday’s faithfulness.
Make prayer your first response, not your last resort.
Pass your story on.
7And when the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together to Mizpeh, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. And when the children of Israel heard it, they were afraid of the Philistines. 8And the children of Israel said to Samuel, Cease not to cry unto the LORD our God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines. 9And Samuel took a sucking lamb, and offered it for a burnt offering wholly unto the LORD: and Samuel cried unto the LORD for Israel; and the LORD heard him. 10And as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel: but the LORD thundered with a great thunder on that day upon the Philistines, and discomfited them; and they were smitten before Israel. 11And the men of Israel went out of Mizpeh, and pursued the Philistines, and smote them, until they came under Beth-car. 12Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Eben-ezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us. 1 Samuel 7:7-12
