Found People, Find Their People
Pastor Anthony King· March 29, 2026
Acts 10:24-48
A sermon on Acts 10:24-48: people who have been found by Jesus should help their own circle hear the Gospel. It calls for humility in evangelism, pointing people to Jesus and not ourselves and clearly telling who He is and what He has done, while trusting God to do the saving work.
“And the morrow after they entered into Cæsarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and had called together his kinsmen and near friends.”
Acts 10:24
Found people gather their people to hear the Gospel.
Faith believes God even when the path isn’t clear.
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.Hebrews 11:6
We must love people enough to bring our circle under the sound of the Gospel.
Found people point people to Jesus, not to themselves.
Evangelism requires a spirit of extreme humility.
When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.Proverbs 11:2
Evangelism fails when people are impressed with us instead of Jesus.
For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.2 Corinthians 4:5
Evangelism begins when we see people as sinners like us who need the same mercy we received.
Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;Romans 3:22-23
Found people clearly speak the Gospel of Jesus.
The Gospel starts with who Jesus is and what He has done, not what we have done.
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:1 Corinthians 15:1-4
The Gospel confronts sin and offers full forgiveness through faith in Jesus.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.Romans 10:9-10
When the Gospel is spoken, God saves and sends more people.
God does the saving work while we do the speaking work.
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.Romans 10:17
Saved people publicly identify with Jesus and join His mission.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.Matthew 28:19-20
Ask God to show you your circle and write down one name you will go after this April.
Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.Romans 10:1
Intentionally create a setting, like Cornelius, where that one person can hear the Gospel.
Prepare a simple, clear way to “open your mouth” about Jesus and the cross.
Trust the Holy Spirit to work while you speak and expect God to use you to start a chain reaction of found people finding people.
24And the morrow after they entered into Cæsarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and had called together his kinsmen and near friends. 25And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him. 26But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man. 27And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together. 28And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean. 29Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me? 30And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing, 31And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God. 32Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee. 33Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God. 34Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: 35But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him. 36The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:) 37That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judæa, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached; 38How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. 39And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree: 40Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly; 41Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead. 42And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead. 43To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. 44While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. 45And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. 46For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, 47Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? 48And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days. Acts 10:24-48
