What the Bible has to say about fear.
We have comfort in the Holy Spirit. Parakletos: advocate, helper, intercessor,
The Holy Spirit is the spirit of Jesus that resides in every believer.
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.Romans 8:9
While Jesus was in human form was limited, His Spirit is unlimited.
#The Purpose of the Holy Spirit To be God’s presence with us forever. (John 14:16-17) To be God’s comfort in us. (John 14:18) To teach us what Jesus has said. (John 14:26) To remind us what Jesus has said. (John 14:26) To point us to and speak of Jesus. (John 15:26) To point out and convict of sin, righteousness and judgment. (John 16:8) To make us holy. (John 16:8) To guide us into all truth and away from error. (John 16:13) To redirect our focus to Jesus. (John 16:13) To glorify Jesus. (John 16:14) To give us power to share our faith. (Acts 1:8) To help believers pray when they cannot. (Romans 8:26) To give us joy, peace, hope, and power as we serve Jesus. (Romans 15:13) To give us spiritual strength. (Ephesians 3:16) To produce the character of Jesus in us. (Galatians 5:22-23)
We have the promise of peace.
Jesus gives us His peace. The tranquility of mind that comes from being right with God.
Jesus’ peace brings a clarity to the confusion of the world.
For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.1 Corinthians 14:33
Jesus’s peace is greater than the false sense of peace from the world.
The approval and love of the Father bring great peace.
Jesus’ peace is a result of the work of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit brings a sense of well-being, contentment and wholeness to believers whatever their outward circumstances.
The Holy Spirit brings peace as we are reminded of the promises of God.
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.John 16:13
The Holy Spirit brings peace as we are confronted with our own sin.
And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:John 16:8
The Holy Spirit brings peace as we are assured of sonship.
And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.Galatians 4:6-7
The Holy Spirit brings peace as we have One to pray for us when we cannot.
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.Romans 8:26-27
“Nearness and presence will be recurring themes in God’s words of comfort to fearful people. Of course, the earth belongs to the Lord and, as Spirit, God is not bound by the limitations of space. He is everywhere at all times. When he underscores his presence, it means that he is working on behalf of his people. It means that he is for them. He is an active, protecting, comforting presence. When he says he is near, watch for his mighty acts. When he is near, he is really near.”

22Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? 23Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. 24He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me. 25These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. 26But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. 27Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. 28Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. 29And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe. 30Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me. 31But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence. John 14:22-31
