Noah

God chose to destroy the world by flood due to humanity’s sin.

And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.Genesis 6:7

And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.Genesis 6:17

God will destroy mankind at the return of Christ.

Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.2 Peter 3:12-13

His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.Revelation 19:12-16

Noah was another Adam in that all of mankind would come from his lineage. He was given the command to be fruitful and multiply.

And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.Genesis 9:1

Jesus was the second Adam in that all of God’s children would come through Him.

The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.1 Corinthians 15:47

All those who were in the ark would find safety from coming wrath and judgment.

And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.Genesis 7:1

All those who are in Christ will find safety from coming wrath and judgment.

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.Romans 8:1

The ark was delivered from the flood waters.

And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood.Genesis 7:7

Jesus was delivered through death.

So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.1 Corinthians 15:54-56

The ark came to rest on Mount Ararat on the seventh month and seventeenth day.

And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.Genesis 8:4

Jesus resurrected on the seventh month and seventeenth day.

Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.Luke 24:1-2

Noah’s obedience secured deliverance for those in His family.

Jesus’ obedience secured deliverance for those who would become God’s family.

The flood caught people unprepared for the coming judgement.

Jesus’ return will catch people unprepared for the coming judgement.

For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.Matthew 24:38-39

Noah offered God a blood sacrifice.

And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.Genesis 8:20

Jesus offered Himself as the final blood sacrifice.

Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:1 Peter 1:18-19

Wrath is coming. Get others to the Ark.

God always honors obedience.

Get to Jesus. Stay with Jesus. There is safety there.
