Delight yourself in the Lord.
And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.John 8:29
Find pleasure in the presence of God.
Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.Psalm 16:11
A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;Psalm 63:1
Find pleasure in the things of God.
Awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early. I will praise thee, O LORD, among the people: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations.Psalm 108:2-3
Commit your life fully unto the Lord.
When we fully give God our heart and minds, He gives us His peace.
Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.Proverbs 16:3
When we give our lives in submission to God, we place the burden upon Him.
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.1 Peter 5:7
God desires every part of us to be committed to Him. We must give him our faith, but also our doubts.
Trust in the Lord.
Trust begins with faith.
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.Hebrews 11:6
We trust in daily reliance. This is a day-by-day commitment.
Give us this day our daily bread.Matthew 6:11
We trust by continued obedience.
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.Psalm 31:1
We trust by complete submission.
Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.Psalm 143:8
God will give you the desires of your heart.
God desires to give you what is good.
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The king shall joy in thy strength, O LORD; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice! Thou hast given him his heart’s desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah.Psalm 21:1-2
God delights in giving His children good things.
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?Matthew 7:8-11
God will satisfy the deepest cravings of your heart.
And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.Isaiah 58:11
He will bring it to pass.
It always happens in God’s time, not ours.
Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.Psalm 27:14
Because God is righteous and just, you can always trust His plan.
Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.Psalm 37:7
God does the things for you that you cannot do for yourself.
Delight.
Commit.
Trust.
1A Psalm of David. Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. 2For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. 3Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. 4Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 5Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. Psalm 37:1-5
