Romans 12:1
The series
A Sunday evening series on living an extraordinary faith in an ordinary life.
Worship begins with what God has already done for you.
You’re not giving yourself to God to earn His mercy, you’re giving yourself because you’ve already received it.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:Ephesians 2:8
The person who forgets how much they’ve been forgiven will always find obedience heavy. “Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.”
God asks for everything, not just your feelings.
Your hands, your words, and your calendar belong to God today.
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.1 Corinthians 6:20
A living sacrifice can reclaim its own will, so you have to give yourself again every morning.
And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.Luke 9:23
Ordinary work done for God is holy and acceptable worship.
Nothing in your day is too small to be offered to God.
Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.1 Corinthians 10:31
The way you do the mundane thing tells the truth about who you’re really serving.
And what soever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;Colossians 3:23
You’ll either be shaped by the world or renewed by God, and it happens daily.
Whatever you feed your mind is quietly forming your appetites.
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.1 John 2:15
A renewed mind is built one day at a time in the Word of God.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.Psalm 1:2
Start the day by surrendering yourself.
Pick one ordinary task this week and do it as worship.
Cut one input that’s conforming you.
Megadose on the Word.
1I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:1-2
