Pastor Anthony King· April 17, 2022
1 Corinthians 15:12
“Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?”
1 Corinthians 15:12
The series
Having hope in a God who never changes!
The bodily resurrection of Jesus is one of the greatest events in all of human history.
Jesus resurrection was not a private event.
To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:Acts 1:3
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.1 Corinthians 15:5-8
The bodily resurrection of Christ is the crowning proof that Jesus was who he claimed to be, God manifested in human flesh.
Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? But he spake of the temple of his body. When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.John 2:19-22
Without Jesus’ resurrection, we have nothing to believe in and faith is no longer necessary.
But if Jesus is risen, what will you do?
Without Jesus’ resurrection, the Bible is not true.
Without Jesus’ resurrection, we are left with stories of another forgettable religious leader.
Without Jesus’ resurrection, we are left with leadership platitudes and feel-good principles.
But if the Bible is true, what will you do?
Without Jesus’ resurrection, we are still in our sins.
Our sin has a price that must be paid.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.Romans 6:23
You can pay or someone can pay for you.
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.Revelation 20:14-15
Jesus paid the price of our sin in full upon the cross.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.Romans 5:8
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.2 Corinthians 5:21
His resurrection was proof of His power over sin, death and the grave.
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;Hebrews 1:3
To be saved you must believe in Jesus and turn from your sin.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.Romans 10:9-10
The resurrection of Jesus marked a turning point in human history.
The resurrection of Jesus proved His love for you.
The resurrection of Jesus has the power to save your soul for all eternity.
Have you been born again?
Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? 1 Corinthians 15:12
