Faithful with the Gospel

The gospel grows as it is proclaimed in word and deed.

The gospel spreads as we faithfully share it.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.Matthew 28:19-20

Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.Romans 15:19

The gospel is authenticated by our actions.

Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.James 2:17-18

By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.John 13:35

As we are faithful with the Gospel, others are encouraged.

Faithful witnesses are empowered by the Holy Spirit.

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.Acts 1:8

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.2 Timothy 1:7

Faithful witnesses model Christ-like love and service.

As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ;Colossians 1:7

Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.1 Corinthians 11:1

Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.Hebrews 13:7

The Gospel bears fruit wherever it is received with faith.

The Gospel’s power to transform lives is universal and unchanging.

For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;1 Thessalonians 1:9

The Gospel produces spiritual growth.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.John 5:24

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.Ephesians 2:10

The Gospel impacts homes, communities and nations.

For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.1 Thessalonians 1:8

Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people.Psalm 96:3

Sharing the Gospel fulfills our purpose as true followers of Jesus.

Sharing the Gospel is a command from Jesus Himself.

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.Mark 16:15

But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.2 Timothy 4:5

Sharing the Gospel brings glory to God and joy to heaven.

I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.Luke 15:7

We are not responsible for bearing fruit, but simply sowing seed.

I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, thou knowest. I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.Psalm 40:9-10
