Jesus is exalted by the Father.
The Father exalted Him in position.
Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.Psalm 89:27
And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:Ephesians 1:19-21
The Father exalted Him in His name.
There is power in the name of Jesus.
Jesus means “Jehovah saves.”
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.Acts 4:12
Jesus saves sinners.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.Romans 5:8-9
There is power in the name of Lord.
It is the name above all names, literally.
For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:Deuteronomy 10:17
And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.Revelation 19:16
**Lord is a title of majesty, authority, honor, and sovereignty. **
Adonai: The divine authority YHWH: Covenant name for God
The name of Jesus demands universal recognition.
All of creation will recognize Jesus as Lord.
For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.Romans 14:11
The name of Jesus demands universal worship.
I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.Isaiah 45:23
Jesus will be worshipped in grateful adoration for His salvation or in the fearful, despair of God’s wrath.
“On the lips of those who belong to God, this will be a willing, continuing, and loving declaration of allegiance and adoration. For those who have rejected Him, the confession will be unwilling but irresistible, a compelled acknowledgment of Jesus Christ as the sovereign Lord of the universe by those under His immutable judgment.”
Worshipped by those in Heaven. Worshipped by those on Earth. Worshipped by those in Hell.
Jesus Christ is Lord whether one chooses to recognize that now or not.
Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.Acts 2:36
Jesus’ journey of humiliation and exaltation glorifies the Father.
Do I recognize Jesus as Lord in my life?
Do I revere His name?
Will I simply worship Him later or am I worshipping Him now?
5Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:5-11
