Pursuing God's Plan For Your Life

Psalm 37:23-29
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.”

God has a unique plan for his obedient children.
God is the creator of your plan.
I don’t create my plan and invite God into it.
A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.Proverbs 16:9
Since my steps have been ordered, I am simply responsible for walking in them.
I’m not trying to figure out where the path leads, I’m simply trying to be obedient.
Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.Psalm 17:5
Walking with the Lord in His plan is a joy. Am I okay with that?
Obedience from a heart of worship produces joy. Obedience out of a heart of expectation sets me up for disappointment.
Sin derails me from the path God has set before me.
Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.Psalm 119:133
We are guided by the Word of God and the Holy Sprit.
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.Psalm 119:105
If my heart is right, failure is not final.
There will be ups and downs, but God’s hand remains steady.
For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.Proverbs 24:16
When things don’t go according to my plan, it doesn’t mean that God’s plan has failed.
Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.Micah 7:8
If I follow God’s plan, He has promised to care for my every need. If I don’t get what I want, it wasn’t a need.
God’s plan is not to just bless my life, but to bless others after I’m gone.
My life is so much bigger than me.
As I walk in obedience, God brings alongside others who have also followed Him to enjoy His blessings together.
23The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. 24Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand. 25I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. 26He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed. 27Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore. 28For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off. 29The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever. Psalm 37:23-29
