Messages on questions our church family asked to hear preached, taken straight from the Scriptures.
The Abrahamic Covenant in Genesis 12:1-3 creates and separates a particular people for God.
Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.Genesis 12:1-3
God further distinguished between Abraham’s two sons, Ishmael and Isaac, choosing Isaac for Himself.
And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him. And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation. But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.Genesis 17:19-21
Again, God distinguishes between Isaac’s twin sons, Esau and Jacob, choosing Jacob for Himself.
And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob’s thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob. And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.Genesis 32:24-28
God calls the descendants of Israel, now a sizeable group of people, out of Egypt. He establishes a covenant with them at Mount Sinai, which becomes the charter of their nascent nation.
Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.Exodus 19:5-6
The Conquest of Canaan, The promised land.
And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them: Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son. For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.Deuteronomy 7:2-4

And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.Revelation 12:13-14
The tribulation is imminent. It could begin at any time, most likely preceded by the rapture of the Church.
The tribulation is to prepare Israel to accept their Messiah.
The tribulation is divided into two halves, both 3.5 years.
The tribulation judgments are divided into 3 parts: seals, trumpets, and bowls. The seal and trumpet judgments appear to occur in the first half, with the bowl judgments in the second.
The Millennial Kingdom (and Satan’s final rebellion).
We are warriors in a battle.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.Ephesians 6:12
You are not alone in the struggle.
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.1 John 4:4
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.Matthew 16:18
The battle is primarily spiritual.
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.2 Corinthians 4:4
God wins in the end.
