The Gospel Entrance Is Just the Beginning
Paul’s message
And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures, Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.Acts 17:2-3
Paul’s method
Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews:Acts 17:1
Paul’s manner
For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.1 Thessalonians 1:5
The Gospel Experience Is the Changing of a Life
Biblical salvation begins and ends with God’s love for mankind that He might save our souls from the penalty of sin - eternal judgment.
God’s love declared by Jesus in John 3.
God’s love demonstrated on the cross in John 19.
God’s love and saving grace is declared through the Word of God and faithful witnesses.
Salvation is delivered by the Holy Ghost.
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;Titus 3:5
Being born again requires faith, not works or religion.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.Ephesians 2:8-9
But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.Galatians 3:11
Genuine salvation changes a life.
Faith in Jesus Christ generates a love for God.
Faith in Jesus Christ produces a patience of hope.
Faith in Jesus Christ invokes a labor of love.
The Gospel Expectation Is Living Out What God Is Working in You
Receive the Word of God by faith and let it change your life.
As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.Colossians 2:6-7
When we commit our lives to trust and obey the Holy Spirit as He guides us in the Scriptures, spiritual growth is evident to everyone around you.
Be an appealing and arresting entrance to the Gospel of Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit at work in your life and personal assurance in the power of God to save souls.
If you are going to share the Gospel with people, live in holy agreement with Scripture so that you can take some through the Bible and show them the Door of Salvation.
Do you have a plan to grow spiritually? Start today by loving God with all your heart. Trust Him with all your heart. Serve Him with all your heart.
What is your experience with the Gospel? Do you know that your sins are forgiven and your home is in Heaven waiting for you? If not now is the accepted time, behold now is the day of salvation.
1Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews: 2And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures, 3Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ. 4And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few. 5But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people. 6And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also; 7Whom Jason hath received: and these all do contrary to the decrees of Cæsar, saying that there is another king, one Jesus. 8And they troubled the people and the rulers of the city, when they heard these things. 9And when they had taken security of Jason, and of the other, they let them go. Acts 17:1-9
