The series
Messages from Easter, Christmas, New Year, missions and anniversary Sundays, and guest preachers.
Leaders are Jesus’ gifts to the church.
Jesus Himself gives specific leadership gifts to His church.
These roles are not status positions but servant roles to bless and encourage the whole family.
Leaders equip, encourage, train and mentor saints to do the work.
The purpose of these leaders is maturing of believers so that the saints do “the work of the ministry” and the body of Jesus is built up.
As the saints are equipped and serve, the church grows deeper in love and understanding of the Word.
Every person doing their share makes the body grow.
The goal is that the whole church grow in Christlikeness and love.
From Jesus the whole body is “fitly joined together” so that “every joint supplieth” and “every part” works properly.
Everyone has a job to do.
Fulfill your role with joy.
Bring others along on the journey.
The goal is not numerical growth, but spiritual impact.
11And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 16From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. Ephesians 4:11-16
