Special Sundays Message 44 of 55
Jesus is Coming to You
Pastor Anthony King· October 19, 2025
John 4:4-24
This sermon from John 4:4–24 reminds us that Jesus meets us right where we are, no matter our past or present struggles. Like the Samaritan woman, we encounter a Savior who knows our deepest needs and offers living water that satisfies forever. Once we receive His grace, we’re called to share our story so others can experience the life-changing love of Jesus.
“And he must needs go through Samaria.”
John 4:4
The series
Messages from Easter, Christmas, New Year, missions and anniversary Sundays, and guest preachers.
Jesus meets us where we are, regardless of our circumstances.
Jesus deliberately went through Samaria to meet a Samaritan woman who was an outcast in her own town.
God seeks and saves those whom others would overlook.
For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.Luke 19:10
There is nothing you can do to cause God to stop pursuing you.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.Romans 8:38-39
Jesus knows our deepest needs and speaks truth into our lives.
Jesus reaches to our deepest hurts and offers His compassionate healing.
The Lord looks on the heart, not simply outward appearance.
But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.1 Samuel 16:7
Jesus came to fix what is broken and proclaim victory for those of us that need help. *“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; Because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; He hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;Isaiah 61:1
Jesus offers living water, eternal life, to all who believe in Him.
Jesus satisfies our spiritual thirst forever and makes His offer available freely to all. *“Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, And he that hath no money;
Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.Isaiah 55:1
Eternal life is found in believing in Jesus as the Christ, the Son of God.
But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.John 20:31
Once we find Jesus, we must help others find Him, too.
Jesus is not afraid of your past or present struggles. He knows where you are and seeks you with love and grace rooted in truth.
Come before Jesus, knowing that He sees your heart, understands your needs, and desires to set you free and give you new life.
Believe in Jesus Christ for living water. He offers forgiveness, purpose, and eternal life today, no matter your background.
Spend the rest of your life telling your Jesus story. Share what Jesus has done for you with others, inviting them to encounter the One who truly satisfies the soul.
4And he must needs go through Samaria. 5Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. 6Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour. 7There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. 8(For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.) 9Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. 10Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. 11The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? 12Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle? 13Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: 14But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. 15The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw. 16Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither. 17The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband: 18For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly. 19The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet. 20Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. 21Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. 23But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John 4:4-24
