Life is a matter of sowing and reaping.
The Law of the Harvest
You reap what you sow.
You reap in proportion to what you sow.
You reap more than you sow.
You always reap later than you sow.
Don’t lose heart.
We often get discouraged because we have unmet expectations.
We often get discouraged because we see no immediate benefit.
We often get discouraged because we overestimate our influence on the harvest.
We often get discouraged because we feel alone in the work.
Don’t quit.
If we give up sowing, there won’t be a harvest to reap later.
If we give up reaping, we will miss the blessing of the harvest.
We are promised a harvest if we stay in the fight.
We must strengthen ourselves for the battle.
For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.2 Corinthians 4:16
We must draw strength from others and share our burden.
Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.Galatians 6:2
We must develop patience and a long-term mindset.
We must encourage ourselves in the Lord.
Faithfulness requires no talent or skill, simply faith.
Our commitment to the harvest is indicative of the priorities of our heart.
7Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 9And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. 10As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. 11Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand. 12As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ. 13For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh. Galatians 6:7-13
