Hope in God will never disappoint.
Hope in man will fail, frustrate and embarrass.
Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint.Proverbs 25:19
God has a track record of faithfulness.
Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them. They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.Psalm 22:4-5
The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand. I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.Psalm 37:23-25
Our yearnings and cravings are satisfied in the love of God.
We all desire to be known and loved.
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.Psalm 139:1-4
God’s love is unconditional.
But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.Psalm 86:15
God expresses His love through Jesus.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.Romans 5:8
God loves you and reached for you first.
We love him, because he first loved us.1 John 4:19
God has poured His love into your heart.
God’s love has an inexhaustible supply.
O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.1 Chronicles 16:34
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.1 John 3:1
As we have experienced the love of God, we should be forever changed.
Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;Matthew 5:43-44
God’s love at work in us toward others shows the world what authentic Christianity looks like.
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.John 13:35
God has given us His Holy Spirit to fulfill every longing of our hearts.
He produces in us the fruit of the Spirit.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.Galatians 5:22-23
The world produces a counterfeit fruit that leaves us empty and robs us of contentment.
Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.Haggai 1:6
God never disappoints.
Jesus never fails.
The Holy Spirit is always with you.
God’s promises are full of hope.
3And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; 4And patience, experience; and experience, hope: 5And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. Romans 5:3-5
