The series
Verse by verse through Paul’s letter to the church at Rome: the Gospel of God’s righteousness, from our ruin in sin to life lived as a living sacrifice.
Gospel: the good news of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus to provide salvation for the sins of mankind
God • Man • Jesus • Response
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:1 Corinthians 15:1-4
A thorough presentation of the Gospel must include the discussion of sin, penalty and judgment.
The Gospel is more than “turning it over to Jesus”, “inviting Him into your heart” or “choosing to become a Christian”.
The Gospel tells us that our greatest problem is sin, and our only solution is a Savior.
We must become experts in sharing the Gospel.
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.2 Corinthians 5:17-20
If you don’t know how to share your faith, we want to help. Discipleship
Sharing the Gospel requires preparation.
Paul says that he is ready. We know the Gospel. We live the Gospel. We pray for Gospel opportunities. We share the Gospel. We let the Word do the work. Tracts, Paid in Full, Sharing Jesus
We are obligated to preach the Gospel.
Sharing the Gospel is simply obedience to the Great Commission.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.Matthew 28:19-20
Sharing the Gospel is the greatest act of love toward the unsaved world.
Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.2 Corinthians 5:11
Everyone needs the Gospel.
It is estimated that 50% of the world’s population has never heard the Gospel even once.
“Every saved person this side of heaven owes the gospel to every lost person this side of hell.”
According to the Great Commission, we start where we are and fan out from here.
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.Acts 1:8
14I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise. 15So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. 16For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Romans 1:14-16
