Romans: The Power of the Gospel Message 117 of 150
We Have the Answer
Pastor Anthony King· July 13, 2025
Romans 10:13-15
In a world where 66% remain unreached or unevangelized, believers have the answer. This sermon shows that salvation is available to all who call on the Lord, and that we are sent to proclaim this life-saving message wherever God has placed us.
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Romans 10:13
The series
Verse by verse through Paul’s letter to the church at Rome: the Gospel of God’s righteousness, from our ruin in sin to life lived as a living sacrifice.
8.2 Billion people on earth.
Unreached About 3.39 billion people who belong to what we call “unreached people groups.” These are communities where less than 2% know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. These are people with little to no access to the Gospel, like they couldn’t find a copy of the Bible in their language or couldn’t find a Christian to guide the way. The majority of these people live in what we refer to as the 10/40 Window.
10/40 Window The 10/40 Window is a geographic region between 10 and 40 degrees north latitude, stretching across North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, known for its high concentration of unreached people groups and limited access to the Gospel.
Unevangelized Then there’s another 2 billion who are “unevangelized.” These are people who might live near a church and have easier access to the Gospel, but they’ve never truly heard it explained in a way they can understand. These are the people you interact with daily, your coworkers, your family members, the dad coaching your kid’s football team. These are the individuals you and I constantly encounter and engage with in our everyday lives.
Add those numbers up, and you’ve got 66% of the world’s population.
All major world religions must answer these pertinent questions:
Where did we come from?
To whom are we responsible?
What do they want from us?
How do we make right what we have wronged?
What happens when we die?
God has revealed Himself to all mankind.
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:Romans 1:20
General Revelation: God’s self-disclosure through nature, conscience, and the created order, revealing His existence, power, and divine nature to all humanity.
Specific Revelation: God’s direct and personal communication to humanity through Scripture, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, revealing truths necessary for salvation that cannot be known through nature alone.
Salvation is a free gift available to all who call upon the name of the Lord.
God’s promise of salvation is universal and not limited by ethnicity, background, or status.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.John 3:16
Calling upon the Lord requires a personal act of faith, not merely outward a recited prayer or religious words.
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.Matthew 7:21
No one can call on the Lord for salvation unless they first believe in Him.
Faith in Jesus is the essential foundation for genuine and salvation.
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.Hebrews 11:6
Heart-belief in Jesus comes before the mouth-confession of His name for salvation.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.Romans 10:9
Faith in Jesus is impossible without first hearing about Him.
The Great Commission is the work of sharing the Gospel to every person in every nation.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.Matthew 28:19-20
The Gospel is the power of God unto salvation and must be communicated with clarity.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.Romans 1:16
The preaching of the Gospel is the responsibility of those sent by God.
God has appointed His church to messengers to proclaim the good news to the world.
Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.2 Corinthians 5:20
Those who faithfully bring the Gospel will be honored and blessed.
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!Isaiah 52:7
Spreading the Gospel is the mission of the Church and has eternal significance.
If you have one life to live, make sure it is spent doing what matters.
You are sent this week to your sphere of influence. Make an impact there.
We have a message that saves people from eternal punishment. What are you doing with it?
Are you committed to taking the Gospel wherever God leads?
13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! Romans 10:13-15
